D4vd is connected to a Los Angeles police investigation after authorities identified a teenage girl whose remains were found inside a Tesla registered to him. Police opened the vehicle at a Hollywood tow yard on Sept. 8, 2025, after workers at the lot reported a strong, foul odor.

Forensic examiners said the remains were badly decomposed and estimated the girl to be about 14 or 15 years old. Officials have not released her name while they attempt to notify next of kin and complete initial forensic checks. The Tesla, bearing Texas license plates, is registered to D4vd, according to public records.

Neighbors in the Bird Streets area of the Hollywood Hills told reporters they saw the same car parked in several spots over the summer and that it later appeared near Bluebird Avenue and Doheny Drive before being towed. Impound staff said the odor showed up days after towing; when officers opened the front trunk, often called the “frunk,” they found a bag that contained human remains.

The county medical examiner is conducting DNA and other tests to confirm the victim’s identity and determine the cause of death, while investigators continue gathering records and evidence in the area.

Police said officers went to the tow yard a few days after the car was taken there and that detectives processed the vehicle on Sept. 8. Investigators described the remains as severely decomposed and said parts of the body were not intact. Forensic teams removed the Tesla for detailed examination and are working to build a timeline from physical evidence.

Public records list the owner as David Anthony Burke, the recording artist D4vd. His representatives said he is cooperating. Official records show D4vd’s name and a Texas mailing address linked to the registration. Police have not named him a suspect, and no charges have been filed in this matter.

Several residents recalled first noticing the Tesla in late May, saying it shifted between different streets in the Hollywood Hills over the summer. One neighbor reported the car remained parked on Bluebird Avenue for about three weeks before it was eventually tagged and towed.

Investigators are compiling witness accounts, tow records, and nearby camera footage to narrow the vehicle’s movements and establish when the remains may have been placed inside.

Authorities released a physical description: approximately 5-foot-2, with wavy black hair, wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow bracelet, and stud earrings. Investigators also noted a small tattoo on the right index finger reading “Shhh...,” which can help with identification while DNA testing continues. Medical examiners said decomposition limits what they can learn immediately, so further lab work is needed.

Detectives are checking tow records, registration data, surveillance video, phone records, receipts, and service logs. Police asked anyone with photos, messages, or other information about the Tesla’s movements to contact the LAPD homicide unit. Investigators said D4vd has provided the requested records and that officers continue to seek physical evidence on the vehicle and along the streets where the car was parked.

Media attention rose quickly because the owner is a public figure and because another body was reported at a separate tow yard around the same time; authorities said those matters are being handled as separate cases.

Online threads mentioning D4vd spread fast, and detectives urged people not to share unverified claims. D4vd’s team declined further comment while investigators continue to gather evidence, and officials reiterated that he has not been charged.
