After making a name for himself in both Hollywood and WWE, Batista recently made his opinions known about the comparisons between the entertainment worlds. Batista touched upon a wide variety of topics in his recent interview with Film Inside, but his take on the work ethic between WWE and Hollywood was what caught the fans' eyes the most. He gave his candid opinion on the comparison, in which he complimented WWE for its superior work ethic:
"I have a strong work ethic and my work ethic really came from the WWE. WWE, if nothing else, they’re not only durable people but it’s just the hardest grind that I could ever imagine. Being in Hollywood and being on a film set, it’s long hours, but compared to the grind of being a professional wrestler, it’s just a cakewalk. It’s night and day. I’m in this business and I find it hard to relate to people who are just always unhappy on set and always complaining about something. I don’t relate to that at all. So that’s it."
Batista then went on to profess his love for Hollywood as well:
"I grew up and with not much, and I’m always grateful for everything I have, and I really didn’t make a dime till I was in my mid-30s, so I remember what it’s like to not have anything. So I’m grateful for what I have, but also with my work ethic, I don’t feel like this is a constant grind. I’m happy to be here. I’m happy to have opportunities. I’m grateful to be in this business, you know? I’m grateful to be able to do what I love. I was a very developed adult before I ever got into this industry."
Batista's career through the years
Batista's career in WWE spanned almost a decade and can be described as an unqualified success. His charisma inside the squared circle was off the charts, and his presence as a two-time Royal Rumble winner, six-time world championship winner, and countless other accolades that followed suit have firmly cemented his legacy within the professional wrestling industry.
When fans caught a glimpse of The Animal, they jumped in joy. What often went unnoticed, however, were the many bruises, dislocations, and surgeries that Batista had to cope with throughout his career. Not to mention the grueling work schedule, with nary a respite in sight. To his credit, he still came out fighting the next day as if nothing had happened.
Dave Bautista seems to have carried over the same work ethic to Hollywood as well, which probably explains why he seems so unfazed by the demands of show business. Even the roles he reprises on screen have a certain nonchalance to them (We're looking at you, Drax!). Batista's transition from a WWE ring to the big screen has been as seamless as it has been entertaining, and he has already delivered many blockbusters at the box office.
His last movie, In The Lost Lands, was released back in March 2025, and he has a couple of projects lined up, including The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender. On the other hand, Batista's in-ring career seems to have ended after he seemingly retired in the aftermath of his match with The Game 'Triple H' at Wrestlemania 35.
