Kanye West, who legally changed his name to Ye in 2021, has a new wish. On June 1, the rapper uploaded a tweet on X (formerly Twitter) that read,

"Ima finally stop using the @kanyewest twitter cause my name is Ye Gonna start a ye account and it is what it is"

According to his tweet, the rapper now wants to switch to a new Twitter handle, @ye, to match his legal name. However, the @ye handle is already taken by a user named MARIO.

After Kanye West posted his tweet, the current owner of the Ye handle shared a video of a cat sticking its tongue out, which fans saw as a way of trolling Kanye. The account was created in March 2007 and currently has over seven thousand followers.
