Sean Diddy Combs' federal s*x trafficking and racketeering trial continued on May 13, 2025, and the prosecution’s star witness, Cassie Ventura, took the stand to give her testimony in the case. According to reports from a popular Pop culture reporter on X, @MrDennisByron, the singer became emotional and broke down as she testified against her former lover.

The X account’s post read:

“Breaking: Cassie Ventura is on the witness stand right now and has already broken into tears as prosecutors began questioning her.”

Ventura dated Combs on and off from 2007 to 2018 and sued him in 2023, accusing the music mogul of abusing her and forcing her to participate in his controversial s*x parties, aka freakoffs. The case, although settled a day after it was instituted, heralded a series of allegations and lawsuits against Combs.

Federal prosecutors arrested the Bad Boy Records boss in September 2024 and charged him with five criminal counts, including s*x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Jury selection began on May 5, 2025, and opening statements from both sides began on May 12, 2025.

Cassie Ventura reportedly recorded “hundreds” of songs while signed to Sean Diddy Combs' Bad Boy Records, but none of them were released

According to reports from The Washington Post, Cassie Ventura claimed in her testimony that she recorded several songs during her long tenure as a signee of Bad Boy Records, enough to cover for her 10-album record deal with the label, but none were published.

When asked by the prosecuting counsel why she didn’t release another musical project, the R&B singer reportedly stated that Combs controlled the releases. She alleged that the music executive ensured that she spent most of her time at the freakoffs, and there wasn’t time to do much else.

Cassie Ventura added that she moved to Los Angeles during her relationship with Combs because he wanted her to be closer to his children:

“I wasn’t ready to be out of New York,” Ventura said, but she followed him — “because I was in love, and I wanted to be near him.”

Cassie Ventura stated that she suffered psychological abuse from Combs during their relationship, as he always expected her to be busy doing something and would check in to ensure the same. The news outlet reported that Ventura paused between her testimony to take slow, deep breaths. She also reportedly ran her hands over her belly and adjusted herself in her chair.

Diddy's trial is estimated to last eight weeks and will not be publicly broadcast. Stay tuned for more updates.
