Political influencer Charlie Kirk's assassin has been identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. The shooter was turned in to the police by his own father. During a live interview, President Trump told ‘Fox & Friends,"
"Somebody who was very close to him turned him in."
This was later confirmed by Utah Governor Spencer Cox, who kicked off the press conference by saying, “We got him.”

Tyler Robinson was identified as the shooter
Tyler Robinson had implied that he killed Charlie Kirk to his father, who had then urged him to go to the police and turn himself in. Robinson's father also got a youth pastor involved, who ended up calling the US Marshals, who then took Robinson into custody.
Spencer Cox stated, “On the evening of September 11, a family member of Tyler Robinson reached out to a family friend who contacted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office with information that Robinson had confessed to them or implied that he had committed the incident.”
“In the conversation with another family member, Robinson mentioned Kirk was coming to UVU. They talked about why they didn’t like him and the viewpoints that he had." Cox further added, "I especially want to thank the family of Charlie Kirk. I want us to be thinking of them as we bring justice to this case.”
The Governor went on the say, "There is one person responsible for what happened here and that person is now in custody and will be charged soon and will be held accountable. We will never be able to solve all the other problems - including the violence problems that people are worried about - if we can’t have a clash of ideas safely and securely. Even - especially, especially, those ideas with which you disagree."
According to a family member, who told investigators that Tyler had become more and more political in recent years and often shared his negative views on Charlie Kirk.
Through his mother's Facebook page, it was also found out that they visited gun ranges. The family hails from Utah’s Cedar City, which is around three hours from Utah Valley University, where the shooting had occurred.
Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck, from a distance of 200 yards, while giving a presentation at the University to a huge crowd of students. He was immediately hospitalized; however, he soon succumbed to the gunshot.
