More details on Bad Bunny headlining the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show

On September 29, 2025, Bad Bunny revealed on Instagram that he would be headlining the 2026 Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show. He captioned the post:

“Super Bowl LX. Bay Area. February 2026. #AppleMusicHalftime.”

Following his announcement, Roc Nation, the NFL, and Apple Music shared the news.

“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown. This is for my people, my culture and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el Halftime Show Del Super Bowl,” Bad Bunny said in a statement.

Jay Z, founder of Roc Nation, praised the singer’s achievements and supported his performance.

“What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”

Bad Bunny’s announcement was met with severe backlash from netizens and conservatives. The Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem announced that ICE agents will be present at his performance. The Puerto Rican singer addressed the criticisms during his recent appearance on Saturday Night Live.

“You might not know this, but I’m doing the Super Bowl Halftime Show. And I’m very happy, and I think everybody’s happy about it. Even Fox News!”

He continued in Spanish:

“Especially all of the Latinos and Latinas in the world here in the United States who have worked to open doors. It’s more than a win for myself, it’s a win for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution in this country, no one will ever be able to take that away or erase it.”

He concluded the monologue in English.

“And, if you didn’t understand know what I just said, you have four months to learn!”
