TMZ reports that singer D4vd is alive and well after a Tesla registered in his name was found with decomposing human remains in a Hollywood tow yard. In an exclusive story published September 9, 2025, the media outlet stated that the Here With Me singer was unaware of the state of his Tesla and was informed by the police.

He is reportedly cooperating with authorities and as the investigation continues. Hours earlier, news broke that cut-up human remains were found abandoned in a Tesla registered to D4vd, real name David Anthony Burke.

The Los Angeles Police Department revealed to TMZ that they were alerted to a foul odor emanating from the Tesla. After finding human remains, they were treating the case as a death investigation.

According to ABC7, police reports state that the impounded vehicle had been at the tow site for some days now, and the body was discovered in a bag in the car’s front trunk. The vehicle was reportedly impounded after being found abandoned in the Hollywood Hills five days ago.

It is unclear whether D4vd’s car was stolen or borrowed. Authorities have not revealed the identity of the person found in the Tesla. The 20-year-old singer is on his Withered tour, which ends September 20, 2025.

The 20-year-old singer from Queens, New York, is popular for hits Romantic Homicide and Here With Me and boasts millions of streams on Spotify. He was an opening act on SZA’s SOS tour. He recently performed on stage at The Salt Shed in Chicago.

In a January 2024 interview with Billboard, the singer revealed that he was influenced musically by rappers Lil Uzi Vert and XXXTentacion and indie rock. His first two Extended Plays, Petals to Thorns and The Lost Petals, were created in his sister’s closet using his iPhone and BandLab.

The singer told the magazine that his music could not be classified under a particular genre:

“There was a drive to keep things organic and not change the formula. To let the creativity flow from where it usually came from…and not subjecting myself to any of the boxes of genre.”

Neither David nor his management has released a statement concerning the remains found in his car.
