David Harbour has recently drawn attention for his striking transformation after he was spotted wearing a prosthetic belly on the sets of DTF St. Louis. The sighting of the actor wearing a fake belly occurred during filming in Atlanta, Georgia, where the show is being shot. After sporting his rugged looks in the recent Marvel movie Thunderbolts*, his sighting has taken fans by surprise and ignited curiosity about his character in the upcoming show.

David Harbour is known for his versatility in the industry, having played characters with varying emotional depths throughout his career. His dedication to his craft is also admirable, having undergone physical transformations previously or Hellboy and Stranger Things as well. He then went on to play Red Guardian in Thunderbolts* too, a role which he had played in Black Widow.

However, David Harbour has clearly had enough of these physical transformations. In an interview with British GQ in 2022, after going through yet another physical transformation for his role in Stranger Things Season 4, he spoke about the toll the process took on his body and professed his preference for prosthetics instead.

"I lost about 80 lbs. from season three — I was about 270 [then], and when we shot [season four] I was around 190. I don't think I'll ever do that again. I have this Santa Claus movie [Violent Night] coming out for Universal in December and I gained [it all back]. But now, yeah, never again. The prosthetics are too good"

What else do we know about David Harbour's DTF St. Louis?

David Harbour plays one of the most pivotal roles in the upcoming HBO series, and his belly also plays an important role in his backstory. DTF St. Louis has generated significant buzz since its announcement late last year, which also has a stellar cast. According to the official WBD website, the plot centres around:

"A darkly comedic limited series about a love triangle between three adults experiencing middle-age malaise, that leads to one of them ending up dead."

Aside from David Harbour, the cast for the show includes heavy-hitters such as Jason Bateman, Richard Jenkins, Linda Cardellini, Joy Sunday, Chris Pereftti, among others. Francesca Orsi, EVP, HBO Programming, Head of HBO Drama Series and Films, expressed her delight and excitement at the upcoming project in a recent press release in which she said:

"We are tremendously excited to work with the brilliant auteur Steve Conrad, whose singularity of vision lies central to all his work as a storyteller. With David Harbour and Jason Bateman at series center, two masterful titans in their own right, we couldn't be more emboldened by the journey ahead and look forward to sharing this special, emotionally provocative piece with the world come time."

Although the release date for DTF ST. Louis has not yet been announced, the fact that production is underway should lead to updates before long. Meanwhile, David Harbour will be next seen in the next season of Stranger Things, which is set to release later this year. He will also be making a comeback as Alexei Shostakov in Avengers: Doomsday.
