At the time of writing, Drake has not spoken out or posted any statements regarding Larry Hoover's commute sentence from President Donald Trump. Many celebrities have been celebrating Hoover's small win by posting on their own social media accounts, including A-listers such as Kanye West who posted on X, Chance the Rapper, and J.Prince, who celebrated on Instagram.

On May 29, 2025, @kanyewest posted on X:

"WORDS CAN’T EXPRESS MY GRATITUDE FOR OUR DEVOTED ENDURING PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP FOR FREEING LARRY HOOVER."

To which a user replied with an image of Ye and Drake from the Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert, which was held in Los Angeles on December 9, 2021. The netizen, @GzzUp_ commented:

"HOOVER FREE".

Ye proceeded to repost the comment and wrote:

"Thank you Drake for for helping to bring Larry Hoover home."

The God's Plan singer himself has not commented on the latest update about Larry Hoover's sentence. West simply reposted a follower's comment and addressed Drizzy by thanking him in his "tweet."

At the time of writing, Drizzy's latest post on X included a repost of OVO Sound's $ome $exy Vinyls 4 U, which was since May 9, 2025. As for @champagnepapi's Instagram, his last post included a photo of himself captioned, "I C E M A N." His Instagram stories did not mention the Larry Hoover sentence either.

Why was Drake expected to comment on Larry Hoover's commute sentence?

Aubrey Drake Graham and Kanye West were some of the biggest A-listers who advocated for Hoover's freedom by performing a one-off concert in Los Angeles four years ago. The Kanye With Special Guest Drake Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert, or Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert, was held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in December 2021.

The concert was hosted amid the West and Graham's feud, after which the two rappers decided to call a truce. James Prince, professionally referred to as J. Prince, helped orchestrate the benefit concert. It became one of the first concerts to be directly livestreamed in theatres via IMAX screens.

Champagne Papi is yet to make a comment regarding Larry Hoover's commute sentence. It is not clear if the NOKIA singer will address the news or not, though Kanye and many fans have acknowledged the Canadian rapper's involvement towards freeing Hoover.
