The highly followed trial of Sean Diddy Combs continues on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. The trial of Diddy, who is facing multiple felony charges, including Racketeering conspiracy, two counts of s*x trafficking, and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, began on May 5, 2025, with Jury Selection. Opening arguments and witness testimony began on May 15, 2025, and continue today.
Tuesday, June 3, the trial begins with Eddy Garcia taking the witness stand. Eddy worked as a security man at the Intercontinental Hotel, where the viral assault of Cassie by Diddy happened. Garcia testified that he was working in the hotel in March 2016, the time the assault occurred. During his testimony, he details the harassment he faced from Combs and his team to get the video for himself and have it erased from the hotel's record.
More details on Eddy Garcia’s testimony at Diddy’s trial
Eddy Garcia testified that he had just begun his 2:00 pm shift on March 5, 2016, when he was informed that a domestic dispute had occurred in the hotel. He claimed that when he first watched the video, he didn't recognise the people in it but was later informed that it was Sean Diddy Combs and Cassie Ventura. He also adds that law enforcement wasn't called because:
“Miss Ventura did not request the presence of police or medical attention.”
He said that Sean Combs’ former Chief of Staff, Kristina Khorram, first contacted him, asking if he was “familiar about an incident that occurred earlier that day” and “if there was any possible way to get a copy of the video or see the video.”
Eddy Garcia stated that Kristina had claimed Combs was intoxicated and couldn't remember what happened.
Garcia testified that Kristina contacted him numerous times, but he refused to show her the video, referring her back to the hotel management or to get a subpoena. After failing to give Kristina any positive response, Garcia said that she had to put him on a call with Diddy himself, who he told the court sounded nervous:
“Mr Combs sounded very nervous, just was talking really fast, was just saying that he had a little too much to drink and that I knew how things were,” Eddy told the court.
However, he still referred Combs back to the hotel management.
Eddy gave several instances when Combs and his management team reached out to him, even through his personal number, which he claimed he didn't give them.
After much back-and-forth between both parties, Eddy said that he reached out to his boss and told him about Diddy's demands, and the latter informed him that he would give the video for $50,000. According to Eddy, he called Combs back and told him about his boss’s offer, and Sean Combs was excited, calling him his angel. They set up a private meeting where the video would be delivered.
Eddy Garcia testified that Combs specifically asked to have the only copy of the video that showed him assaulting Cassie and assured him that Cassie also wanted the footage gone:
“He said I didn’t have to worry about that, that she knew about it, and she wanted the video gone too,” Eddy told the jury.
Following that, Sean Combs had Garcia sign a nondisclosure agreement and paperwork stating that the video was the only existing copy.
Eddy Garcia added that Combs paid him $100,000 in cash, which he split with his boss and Israel Florez, the responding officer who had also testified earlier in Diddy's trial.
At the time of writing this article, Eddy Garcia is still giving his testimony. Other witnesses expected to take the stand include Frank Piazza, Derek Ferguson, and Bryana Bongolan.
