On the second day of deliberations, the jury sent a note to the court saying that they had reached verdicts on four of the five charges, including two counts of sex trafficking and two counts of transportation for prostitution. They added that they remain deadlocked on the central racketeering conspiracy count.
As reported by CNN, in the note the jury wrote to the judge, they mentioned:
''We have jurors with unpersuadable opinions on both sides.''
The judge emphasized that the jury must make decisions based on the evidence that was provided in the court and the witnesses that were presented. As per USA Today, he also said:
''The rulings I have made during the trial are not any indication of my views of what your decision should be as to whether or not the guilt of the defendant has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt.''
The jury consists of 12 individuals, among whom eight are men and four are women. The prosecutor, Maurene Comey, suggested that the judge give the jury a message encouraging them to keep discussing the case and try to come to an agreement.
Although the court remains closed on Thursday, the prosecutors and the defense team agreed that if the jury wants to work on that day, they would have the option to do so. However, the court will close on Friday, ahead of the July 4 holiday.
The court also saw interactions between Diddy, his mother, and his six children, who were seated in the court. Diddy was seen reassuring his mother, asking her to relax and saying that it was gonna be alright.
On June 27, the trial officially ended, after six weeks of testimony and 29 court days beginning May 5. During the trial, the prosecutors presented nearly 30 witnesses, including high-profile celebrities like Cassie Ventura, Kid Cudi, and several former employees of Diddy.
As of now, the jury deliberations are expected to continue on Wednesday.
