Diddy's federal sex trafficking and rackeetering trial reached its seventh week. On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, the prosecutors wrapped up their case and handed it over to the defense team.

Previously, the court had heard testimonies from Diddy's former girlfriends, and high-profile celebrities including Kid Cudi, Homeland Security agents, and Combs former employees.

Surprisingly, Diddy's lawyers also rested their case yesterday within 30 minutes, which means that the case is now open for jury deliberations. Combs refused to testify. The closing arguments are scheduled to be on Thursday. Combs is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York, since his arrest in September 2024.

The prosecutors finally rested their case on Tuesday and handed it over to the defense team. The prosecutors had previously called Homeland Security agent Joseph Cerciello, who testified using evidence such as travel, hotel, financial, and phone records to show how Combs, along with his employees, carried out the arrangement for the freak-offs, as per The Guardian.

Prosecutors' case included detailed testimonies from several witnesses that described the freak-offs, transportation of the male escorts, and also the emotional, physical, and sexual abuse the victims endured from Combs.

The defense rested their case within 30 minutes; they did not call new witnesses, but they relied on previously submitted text messages. They argued that Combs former partners were willingly participating in the freak-offs. They showed some of the explicit text messages between Combs and his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in which Cassie had agreed to a freak-off session.

Diddy was also asked in court if he didn't want to testify, and he confirmed by saying that he didn't want to. He stated that it was his sole decision not to testify and that he had discussed it with his team, as reported by AP News.

His lawyers had then asked the judge for a swift acquittal. As per USA Today, Alexandra Shapiro, Combs lawyer, argued, saying that no responsible juror would find Combs guilty, with the evidence the prosecutors have provided.

She agreed that the employees did help Combs in arranging the hotel rooms and cleaning them after, but she also added:

''They did not have anything to do with what went on with Combs and his girlfriends in the hotel room – other than that they used a lot of baby oil and Astroglide, drank alcohol, and maybe did drugs."

The closing arguments will take place on Thursday, and the judge will be holding a charging conference to finalize instructions to the jury, who could begin deliberations by Friday or early next week.

Diddy is facing five felony charges and has pleaded not guilty to all. However, if convicted on all counts, he would be facing life imprisonment.
