President Donald Trump is reportedly "seriously considering" granting a presidential pardon to Diddy akansha Sean Combs, according to a report in Deadline.

The news comes ahead of his sentencing on October 3, 2025, for federal crimes related to prostitution, for which he faces up to 2–3 years in prison. Combs has also requested the judge on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, to release him on a $50 million bond as he awaits his sentencing, per Sky News.

Multiple sources report that discussions about a possible pardon have intensified in recent days. However, Trump has yet to sign any papers.

A report in Sky News stated that the Bad Boy Records founder argued that the conditions at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn are dangerous and noted that others convicted of similar offenses were released before their sentencing.

What did Diddy’s attorneys say as he requests judge to release him on $50 million bail?

Diddy has requested the judge to grant him a $50 million bond before his sentencing on October 3, 2025, for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was convicted of the same charges on July 2, 2025.

Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo wrote in the motion:

“Sean Combs should not be in jail for this conduct. In fact, he may be the only person currently in a United States jail for being any sort of John, and certainly the only person in jail for hiring adult male escorts for him and his girlfriend."

Diddy's attorneys said:

“The prosecution and continued incarceration of Sean Combs are unique in the history of the Mann Act. In the limited cases of Mann Act convictions from across the country that bear any similarity to Mr. Combs’ case, the defendants were released pending sentencing."

They also argued that holding the rapper in jail without bail before sentencing is unfair and inconsistent with how others convicted of similar charges were treated. They further told the judge that Diddy, his longtime girlfriend Cassie Ventura, and other women who testified as “Jane Doe” were living a “swingers” lifestyle.

The bail motion stated:

“Attitudes about s*x and morality have come a long way in the last 115 years. This was a lifestyle, one that both Ms. Ventura and Jane chose. One they all—as grown adults—had a right to choose. Like many aspects of sex and intimacy, it was not without its complications, its bouts of jealousy, and, at times, its frustrations.”

They reportedly proposed a bail package that included a $50 million bond secured by his home in Miami, and will be "co-signed by three financially responsible people."

After the jury’s verdict, Judge Arun Subramanian firmly denied Diddy’s request to be released on a $50 million bond. Diddy has been incarcerated since September 2024, following his arrest and throughout his legal proceedings. He has previously pleaded not guilty to all charges and was ultimately convicted on two lesser charges related to prostitution.
