On Sunday, August 24, 2025, Drake took to his official Instagram account to share pictures of American rap legend Tupac and his iconic All Eyez on You 1996 chain.
The God’s Plan rapper captioned the post:
“COPENHAGEN NIGHT ONE LESSSGO.”
According to reports, Drake bought Tupac’s pendant from popular artifact collector Alexander Bitar. @Rap shared the news on its official X account, formerly Twitter.
The post was captioned:
“Drake seemingly has purchased Tupac's Death Row Records chain. Estimated Value: $500k”
Netizens reacted to the news, sharing their opinions in the comments section. Some X users didn't appreciate the rapper’s latest acquisition, claiming he wanted to use the chain to claim ‘culture.’
“He gotta keep buying culture cause he doesn't have none. Why doesn't he buy culture pieces from Canadians or better yet the British, since the British are the best Lyricist of them all? Goofy!” @Honestyea87 commented.
“And he'll STILL never be like us...he can purchase everything Pac owned and he'll never be a quarter of the legend Pac was,” @twoonefiveniki tweeted.
“But I thought the best rappers were the UK rappers? So why doesn’t he spend his money on things owned by the best rappers in the world aka the UK ones — instead of wasting it on US rappers ?” @MelaninQ241 added.
Other netizens commended the rapper for getting the artifact, describing his buying power as a symbolic power play.
“This is not a purchase. It's a message. This isn't about jewelry or even about being a fan; it's a symbolic power play in the middle of a legal war. By acquiring Tupac’s Death Row Records chain, Drake is making a statement that resonates on a historic level,” @Man_WU wrote.
“So rappers can buy jerseys of men they ain’t in the sport of but buying memorabilia of the sport he’s actually in and being the top guy whether yall like it not IN THAT SPORT and he can’t? Hahaha hypocrisy is maddening,” @kev2alks stated.
More details on Drake's acquisition of Tupac's jewelry
It seems that Drake is building a Tupac jewelry collection. According to reports, the Hotline Bling crooner added the iconic Tupac’s Death Row Records pendant to his jewelry collection.

The jewelry, which was said to have a value of $500,000, features a diamond-encrusted Death Row logo and an “All eyez on you 1996” engraving on the back.
This purchase comes after the rapper bought Tupac’s signature crown ring in 2023 at a Sotheby’s auction for over $1 million.
