Julian McMahon has passed away at 56 after battling cancer. The wife of the late Fantastic Four actor revealed to PEOPLE Magazine that he had battled privately with cancer and died on July 2, 2025, in Clearwater, Florida. Her statement read as follows:
"With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.”
Kelly McMahon described her late husband as one who loved his family. She added that Julian, son of former Australian Prime Minister William McMahon, had a wish to spread joy to all who came across him:
“Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible."
She continued:
"We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories."

Julian McMahon had an impressive acting resume, starring in films like Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007), where he played the villain, Dr. Doom. The Australian-born American actor briefly studied law at the University of Sydney and took a brief course in economics before beginning a career in modelling.
McMahon walked the runways in Milan, New York, London, Paris, and Rome before landing a role on the popular Australian Soap Opera Home & Away. The actor was previously married to Australian musician Dannii Minogue and Baywatch actress Brooke Burns before his marriage to Kelly Paniagua in 2014.
He earned a Golden Globe nomination for his performance as Dr. Christian Troy on the American drama series, Nip/Tuck, that ran from 2003 to 2010. Julian McMahon’s most recent TV role was that of Prime Minister Stephen Roos of Australia in the Netflix series The Residence.
