The FBI has shared an update on the person who assassinated political influencer Charlie Kirk. The Federal Bureau of Investigation released photos of a person of interest, urging the public to help identify him, as the assassin is still at large. The Utah Department of Public Safety's Commissioner Beau Mason described the suspect as “appearing to be of college age" and said that he had “blended in well with the campus community."

Moments after the shot was fired, the crowd almost caused a stampede as students were found running away from the scene of the crime, thinking the incident would lead to a mass shooting.

A rifle that was allegedly used in the incident has been recovered from a wooded area near Utah Valley University. The FBI confirmed it had recovered a high-powered bolt-action rifle, and the recovered firearm, an older .30 caliber hunting rifle, was wrapped in a towel.

FBI agent Robert Bohls said, “We have recovered what we believe is the weapon that was used in yesterday’s shooting… We’re doing everything we can to find him, and we’re not sure how far he has gone yet, but we will, we will do our best."

About Charlie Kirk's Assassination

Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University. He was 20 minutes into giving his presentation as part of Turning Point’s “American Comeback Tour" when he was shot in the neck from 200 yards away.

Kirk was hospitalized, where he succumbed to his injuries. His death was confirmed by President Trump, whom he has supported for years, as he shared on Truth Social:

"The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

Following that, while delivering the 9/11 remembrance speech at the Pentagon, the president decided to award the conservative activist:

“Charlie was a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty, and an inspiration to millions and millions of people. We miss him greatly, yet I have no doubt that Charlie’s voice and the courage he put into the hearts of countless people, especially young people, will live on.”

Graphic videos of the shooting were circulating on social media, and politicians from both sides shared prayers for Charlie Kirk online.
