On Saturday, May 24, 2025, Twitch banned popular 31-year-old streamer Hasan Piker over controversial remarks regarding the infamous shooting at the Washington DC Jewish Museum. Hebrew University of Jerusalem alumnus Yaron Lischinsky and his fiancee Sarah Milgrim were killed on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, outside of the Washington-based Lillian Albert Small Capital Jewish Museum.
The duo, who were workers at the Embassy for Israel, died as a result of an open-fire incident carried out by crime suspect Elias Rodriguez.
Following the heinous act, Hasan Piker expressed a sense of doubt as regards the killings via a live stream on Twitch, tagging the incident as a "false flag." His statements during the live stream led to a suspension from Twitch, informing him via an official statement.
"Twitch is committed to keeping our community safe for everyone, and as a part of that, we require all users to ensure that anything shared on their account abides by Twitch's Terms of Services and Community Guidelines."
The statement continued:
"Based on a review of your activity or content, we have issued a global suspension on your account. As a result, your access to Twitch services is temporarily restricted."

On Saturday, May 24, 2025, Hasan Piker posted a video on his YouTube channel titled "What People Miss About The DC Israeli Embassy Shooting." In the video, Hasan Piker related the murder of Sarah and Yaron to the Palestine killings, calling out the hypocrisy in the portrayal of the murder of Jewish individuals.
"What the f**k does set to be engaged mean? Are they engaged? Said to be engaged, is them humanizing the victims in this situation. And that's why this is how it goes. Obviously, there's no such humanization of course, when the victim of an Islamophobic attack is a seven-year-old child," Hassan stated.
He further explained that supporters of Israel in the ongoing "Israeli and Hamas" war are taking advantage of the recent killings and flipping the script in their favour.
"Of course there are lot of pro-Israeli accounts that are using this opportunity as they use any opportunity to turn around and say Oh my God we have to stop people from saying 'free Palestine' which is ridiculous," he said.

"These horrible DC killings, based obviously on antisemitism, must end, NOW! Hatred and Radicalism have no place in the USA. Condolences to the families of the victims. So sad that such things as this can happen! God Bless You ALL!"
Hasan Piker seemingly suggested that the president's take on the matter is boxed inside pharisaism.
"Dude, you're Donald Trump. What are you saying? Donald Trump saying this is like Adolf Hitler saying this."
"What do you mean hatred and radicalism have no place in the USA? You literally won on hatred and radicalism,” he added.
