Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was tragically shot at a rally at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025, and several high-ranking officials and celebrities have paid tributes to the late 31-year-old. President Donald Trump took to his social media app Truth Social to urge Americans to pray for Charlie Kirk and described him as a “great guy from top to bottom”:
"We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!”
Vice President J.D. Vans described Charlie Kirk as a “genuinely good guy’ in a tweet.
Eric Trump mourned the loss of his friend:
“Charlie Kirk is a great friend and an amazing person! Lara, Luke, Carolina and I will be praying for him, his wife Erika and their two children."
“We are closely monitoring reports of the tragic shooting,” FBI Director Kash Patel says as several high-profile officials pay tribute to Charlie Kirk

A viral video on social media recorded the right-wing activist’s last moments as a single bullet struck him, fired as he addressed a gathering on the Utah Valley University campus. The event was hosted by Kirk’s nonprofit organization Turning Point USA.
Kash Patel, FBI director, stated that the FBI was investigating the shooting:
"We are closely monitoring reports of the tragic shooting involving Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. Our thoughts are with Charlie, his loved ones, and everyone affected. Agents will be on the scene quickly, and the FBI stands in full support of the ongoing response and investigation."
As news of Charlie Kirk’s death spread, several prominent figures condemned the shooting and sent prayers to his family. Host Jimmy Kimmel wrote on Instagram:
"Instead of the angry finger-pointing, can we just for one day agree that it is horrible and monstrous to shoot another human? On behalf of my family, we send love to the Kirks and to all the children, parents and innocents who fall victim to senseless gun violence.”
Former President Barack Obama described Kirk’s shooting as “despicable violence” and sent his condolences to Kirk’s wife and kids. Former governor of California and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger also sent prayers to the late activist’s family.
