Cory Booker revealed how he met Alexis Lewis during an appearance on The Shade Room. However, at the time of the interview, he did not mention her name. Booker shared how he and Lewis met by saying:

"We were fixed up by a friend... I at first said, 'No,' I was not interested,' because she lives in L.A. and I live in New Jersey and D.C. Her family grew up in D.C., so it made it a lot easier."

Cory Booker and Alexis Lewis' relationship explored

Three months ago, Cory Booker revealed that he and Alexis Lewis had been dating for more than a year and a half. He also shared during an appearance on The Shade Room that they met through a friend, although he was hesitant to go on the date initially.

Booker gave a few glimpses into their relationship by sharing some details. During his appearance on The Shade Room, he also revealed how he "Googled" Alexis before going on a date with her.

He said:

"Who goes on a date anymore without doing a full Google search on somebody? I got everything I could get on her off the internet. I did not employ the FBI in my dating."

Cory Booker also recalled that his new bride went on the date without searching him. He added:

"Her friends kept on saying, 'Did you know this about him?' but he said that she wanted to meet him as he is."

Cory also shared the difficulties of dating as a well-known individual, but he is happy with how his relationship with Alexis is progressing. In his words:

"I've gone on a first date with somebody and some photographer in a New York restaurant takes a picture and I'm on Page Six... It definitely is harder, but I feel like this relationship has been great... developed in a wonderful way."

Booker announced his engagement a month after his interview with David Sivak for the Washington Examiner. He took to Instagram to share the news, writing:

"I am savoring the soul-affirming wonder of everyday life with my partner, best friend, and now my fiancée... We are excited for this journey ahead, having so much fun, and feeling deeply grateful for the love, support, and energy so many of you have shared with us... We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such a beautiful community lifting us in love and commitment."

Even before announcing his engagement, Cory Booker enthusiastically shared how he wanted to get married and have children. He also talked about how he met Alexis at the perfect time. During his time on The Shade Room, he said:

"I want to be married, I still want to have kids... I'm so happy that both me and my significant other now, if we had met each other five years ago, I don't think we would've connected like we're connecting now."

The reason he said that is because he was not good at "prioritizing relationships" back then, while he was Mayor.

Cory Booker and Alexis Lewis met through a friend, and their relationship grew strong over the last year and a half. Booker has openly shared how happy he is and how their bond came at the right time in his life. Now, the couple is ready to begin a new journey together as they tie the knot in a dual-location ceremony.
