On May 6, Playboi Carti shared an Instagram post on his handle @opium_00pium, with the caption:

"MET GALA BANNED ME FELT LIKE WE GOT KICKED OUT OF PROM BUT WE GOOD @ft.gioo WITH ME IM A HAPPY MAN F*CK EM"

In the post, Carti was seen in Chrome Hearts, and with Giovanna Ramos, an internet personality and model. In different photos, the pair was seen smoking in a room and running down a hallway.

The reason for Playboi Carti's alleged Met Gala ban is not confirmed yet, as neither Met Gala, nor the event's organizer and Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, has given a statement on the same. Per speculations, smoking can be one of the reasons behind the ban, as the Met Gala has a strict no-smoking policy and attendees are also asked not to bring their phones during the event.
