Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom ended their engagement and their long-term relationship in June last year. Despite the breakup, they continued to prioritize co-parenting their five-year-old daughter Daisy Dove Bloom.
Sources revealed that the couple had maintained a positive dynamic with a focus on love, stability, and mutual respect before going their separate ways. A source told People magazine that they're “always gonna be family and put their daughter first.”

They added:
“They're both super committed to keeping this family dynamic.” and added it’s “all amicable and pretty easy.”
The source also noted that despite their busy careers (which involves a lot of traveling), they are “doing a great job at figuring it all out” for their daughter who was born in August 2020. Perry confirmed her pregnancy through a music video, Never Worn White in March of the same year.

All about the relationship between Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom shared a nearly decade-long relationship marked by love, a temporary split, reconciliation and family milestones leading to their 2019 engagement. They ended their relationship in July last year after seven years due to strain from their demanding careers, constant travel and breakdowns.
They confirmed their split through a statement shared by their representatives. The statement read:
“Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is—and always will be—raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom met at a Golden Globe after-party in 2016, which was hosted by The Weinstein Company and Netflix. At the party, the duo bonded over an In-N-Out burger and shared a flirtatious dance-off. Katy Perry recalled their meet-cute at an episode of American Idol in 2019. She said:
“I met my boyfriend over In-N-Out (Burger). We were at the Golden Globes and we weren’t together. So I had my security guard grab 10 In-N-Outs and all of a sudden I see my boyfriend’s hand — he wasn’t even sitting at our table — he just swoops in and he grabs it and I was like, ‘Hey that’s my burger!’”
They made their relationship Instagram official in May of the same year after they attended the Cannes Film Festival. Katy Perry shared an Instagram post which showed the two lounging in matching robes on the steps of a hotel in Cannes, France. She captioned it:
“We cannes’t.”
Perry and Bloom broke up briefly in 2017 after dating for a year. In a 2024 interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Katy Perry revealed that at that time, they were on different personal paths. She said:
“We weren’t really in it from day one. He was because he had just done a huge time of celibacy and he had set intentions. I was fresh out of a relationship, and I was like, I can’t do this anymore. I need to swim in a different pond, but I had to do a lot real work.”
The former couple rekindled their romance in 2018 after both had experienced personal growth. Both Bloom and Perry attended the Hoffman Process, which helped The Outpost actor to set healthier boundaries, while Perry described it as “life-saving.”
They eventually got engaged the following year on Valentine’s Day when Bloom proposed to Katy Perry in a romantic setup. He then popped the question to her on a mid-flight in a helicopter.
They never married due to unfortunate circumstances. Their wedding was initially planned for early 2020 but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and then life got in their way as Perry welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, in August 2020.
