Popular American broadcaster Hoda Kotb, known for co-anchoring the NBC News morning shows, recently shared how she celebrated Christmas. The former TODAY host is enjoying the festive season with family.

On Thursday, Hoda took to her official Instagram to share a selfie featuring her kids, her mom, sister, and, surprisingly, her ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman. In the picture, the family posed in matching Christmas pajamas and hats.

Hoda Kotb and Joel adopted two children, daughters, when they were together, Haley Joy in 2017.

“She’s a Valentine’s baby. She is the love of my life,” Kotb announced on the Today Show.

And Hope Catherine two years after.

“It’s a girl! And her name is Hope!”

More details on Hoda Kotb and Joel Schiffman’s relationship

Hoda Kotb officially announced her relationship with Joel Schiffman in 2015. It is reported that they were dating for a couple of years before they decided to go public. In November 2019, the duo got engaged, but unfortunately, they split in 2022.

“Joel and I have had a lot of prayerful and meaningful conversations over the holidays and we decided that we're better as friends and parents than we are as an engaged couple,” the anchor revealed during an episode of TODAY.

She continued:

“So we decided we are going to start this new year ... on our new path as loving parents to our adorable, delightful children, and as friends.”

Adding:

“It's not like something happened. They say sometimes relationships are meant to be there for a reason, or a season or for a lifetime. And I feel like ours was meant to be there for a season.”

Years after their separation, Hoda Kotb spoke about their relationship during her appearance on the Jamie Kern Lima Show. She described Joel as one of the best people she knows, explaining that “sometimes two great human beings together isn't enough to make it work.”

The former couple continues to co-parent their two daughters.

“He'll have a Saturday, and I'll do the Sunday,” the anchor explained to PEOPLE.

She added:

“We switch each week. He'll take the girls and do some fun things, and I'll take some quiet time. It's a healthy mix, and the kids love it. He's a great dad.”
