Princess Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor is the second child and first daughter of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan. She was born in Santa Barbara, California, in 2021, which means she has dual citizenship. She is both an American and a British citizen. The little princess is currently the youngest grandchild of King Charles.
Since she was born in the US, she did not see her father's side of the family till she was almost one year old. She met her great-grandmother Elizabeth II and grandfather Charles III for the first time when he parents travelled to the UK in 2022, to attend a ceremony for the queen, called "Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee".
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were cautious to post photos of baby Lilibet after she was born. It was only after six months that the couple released an official first photograph of Lilibet to the public, which was a Christmas card from the Sussexes.
Lilibet was baptized at the Episcopal Church in a private service on March 3, 2023, by Bishop John H. Taylor. It was also revealed that American actor and comedian Tyler Perry is her godfather.
During an interview with Oprah with Meghan and Harry, Meghan disclosed that Perry helped the royal couple with housing and security for the first three months after they withdrew from the British royal protection. It was when they relocated from Canada to California in 2020.
As for her titles, the youngest royal can choose to use "princess" or "royal highness," since she was the granddaughter of a king.
