Popular Twitch streamer Nina Lin has yet again been unbanned from Twitch. The IRL streamer’s account was restored after a one-week suspension. Her unban caused public outrage, with many streamers and netizens condemning the action of the Amazon-owned streaming platform.

Asmongold was among the many streamers who reacted to the news. He slammed Twitch, claiming that a one-week suspension was a small punishment for s*xual assault.

He tweeted:

“S*xual assault live on stream is a 1 week ban? How is this possible? There's a point where people should be contacting advertisers and Amazon leadership and I'm pretty sure we're there.”

Other streamers, like Valkyrae, discussed the situation, expressing their discomfort with Nina Lin’s actions and how Twitch handled the issue.

More details on Nina Lin’s Twitch ban

Nina Lin’s Twitch account was banned on October 24, after an old 2024 livestream circulated on social media. In the video, Nina and another streamer inappropriately touched a production member without his consent. Immediately after the backlash, Nina Lin made a video apologizing for her actions.

“I’m old enough to own up to what I did wrong, and during the situation, I genuinely and one hundred per cent thought it was a joke. I just thought he was laughing, so I'm like, we are all laughing and giggling. Yeah, but I see. It is really wrong. It is really, really wrong, and what we did was wrong.”

She added:

“He clearly was uncomfortable with it, you know, and he was very hurt by it.”

After her apology, Nina’s Twitch ban was lifted, leaving many netizens outraged. They believed a one-day ban was too lenient. Unfortunately, more videos of the streamer showing similar behaviour surfaced on the internet, leading to another ban by the streaming platform.

Nina Lin rendered another apology via a lenghty statement on her official Instagram. She wrote:

“I've had a few days to think about how I've been approaching streaming and how my actions can negatively impact people around me. I never want that to be the case. I am incredibly sorry for any and all harm I have caused and I will strive to not only be a better streamer but a better person overall. I know I've received backlash online and I will take all of it in stride.”

She added:

“Whether the comments are coming from other creators, former friends or viewers, I will strive to do better, learn and grow as that is the best and only option. I am aware that no matter what I say or do there will be people that will use it against me, but I know myself and I've never had malicious intent. I will work even harder than I have in the past and although I may not ever be perfect, I will be the best version of myself possible.”
