South Korean actor Yoon Il-bong has died at the age of 91. Along with being a talented veteran actor, he also became the 11th president of the Korea Film Promotion Corporation.

Remembering him, actress Uhm Jung-hwa wrote on her Instagram story with an old photo of the actor:

"Actor Yoon Il-bong. Remembering your heart and passion. Wishing you peace. You were truly remarkable."

The news has come as a shock to the South Korean entertainment industry and his fans, with fans paying tribute to the late actor. Yoon last appeared in the movie That Last Winter, released in 1988, according to MyDramaList.

Tributes pour in after the passing of Yoon Il-bong

Remembering him, a user @mokshiri on Instagram wrote:

Another fan, @renmusb1, wrote on X:

"silver screen star of the 1960s-80s, died Monday at the age of 91, sources said. Yoon, the father of ballet dancer Yoon Hye-jin and father-in-law of actor Uhm Tae-woong, died earlier in the day, according to the sources.😢"

One more user, @tang__kira, showing respects, wrote on X:

"Actor Yoon Il Bong has passed away at the age of 91 Father of ballerina Yoon Hyejin and father-in-law of Uhm Taewoong Rest in peace"

Yoon was the father of Yoon Hye-jin and father-in-law of Eom Tae-woong. Eom Tae-woong, calling Yoon Il-bong "father," earlier said in an interview, reported by Chosun:

"It felt like I had a father. It was good at first and it is good now, and he treated me like a son"

Yoon's daughter, Yoon Hye-jin, added:

"There was no one to call 'father,' but when I say 'father,' he calls 'Taewoong,' and it feels really nice."

As of now, Yoon Il-bong’s family has not released any statement about his passing on their social media. According to the reports, his funeral march will be held on December 10.
