Sophia Umansky recently opened up to her fans and followers about using a weight-loss drug, in a TikTok video she uploaded last month. The TikTok included a video of Umansky saying:

"I’m gonna be bald in about a week."

The reality TV star star also showed her fans clumps of hair she lost while showering.

Despite the side effect, Sophia Umansky is responding to all the criticism she has received because of the TikTok. During an interview with People, she said:

"Everyone needs to calm down and live their own lives... I am 25 years old, so I'm an adult, I can do what I want."

Many fans were quick to judge the television star for using the drug to lose weight. However, the 25-year-old clarified that she is using it under the guidance of medical professionals, as well as with the support of her actress and socialite mother, Kyle Richards.

How Sophia Umansky defended herself from critics over the weight-loss drug

Sophia Umansky is not taking the criticism quietly. She defended her decision to use a weight-loss drug, pushing back at online commenters questioning her choices.

"People who are telling me that I don’t need to be on it, they don’t know what they’re talking about. They’re not doctors... honesty will get you far in life and lying is not fun. It’s not good," the Buying Beverly Hills star added, to insist that she is transparent with her followers.

She also told People the name of the drug she was taking. She mentioned the Type II diabetes drug she was using:

"It’s like, 'Okay, well, I told you that. I’m owning it.' I think it’s fine. And I always say I’m on Mounjaro. I obviously talk to a doctor."

Sophia Umansky also clarified that her mother, Kyle Richards, is supportive of her decisions. Sophia shared:

"And of course we have guidance from our mom... She wasn’t saying like, 'Oh, you should be on this medication.' Definitely not saying that.... I think she was definitely trying to veer me away from getting on this medication, but once I spoke to doctors and she saw that that’s the path I wanted to take, she was very supportive."

Sophia Umansky also talked about the reasons she was using Mounjaro. She claimed that it had nothing to do with body dysmorphia, but it was with the intention to boost her confidence a bit more. She opened up by saying:

"I think I was cute before and I’m cute now... There’s nothing wrong with trying to feel a little bit more confident, a little bit cuter... People get worked on all the time, they get filler, they get Botox, they do all different kinds of things. So if I want to feel a little cuter, why not?" she justified by saying that people do different things and undergo different procedures to help themselves feel better in their own skin.

The reality TV star has been open about using a weight loss drug since the beginning of this year. She is also being transparent with her followers, showing them the side effects of Mounjaro. While many are against her decision, saying she looks good as she is, Umansky begs to differ, saying there is nothing wrong with feeling a "little cuter."
