Influencer Chase Filandro dies by suicide at 20, family confirms

Chase Filandro has passed away at 20 years old. The content creator who liked to share books and photos from his travels died by suicide on July 31, 2O25. The New York City-based creator had over 35,000 followers on Instagram alone, from which he continually updated fans on his lifestyle and travels.

A heartwarming tribute was made by Filandro’s sister, who described her brother as an avid traveler who always welcomed strangers:

“Chase was an avid traveler and was moved by the beauty of National Parks. He always welcomed strangers with a smile and made friends along all the trails he traveled on.”

In a statement released to TMZ, Chase Filandro’s family mourned the death of their son, adding that he had decided to no longer be with them:

"It was Chase's own decision to enter Heaven. His light will continue to shine eternally in the hearts of all those he touched throughout his remarkable life, though far too brief. Our family is heartbroken and devastated by the sudden and unexpected loss of our beloved, Chase."

Chase was a member of the indie rock band Just Add Water and occasionally performed with his band members. His content included parts of his everyday life and exploring different locations. His family continued in their statement, adding that the 20-year-old was a lover of the great outdoors:

"We are sharing this statement to honor his memory. Those who knew Chase understood his deep love for the arts and the outdoors. His passionate spirit and genuine warmth created lasting connections with people everywhere."

They ended their statement with the reassurance that Chase Filandro’s artistic legacy will continue to live on. His sister Franki shared a GoFundMe link on her socials to raise money to build a memorial for her brother. According to Franki, the donations were to help her maintain her brother's legacy as she hoped to erect different memorials at his favorite parks.

Franki stated that details of the erected memorials will be communicated online to enable others to visit.
