The infamous Annabelle doll has reportedly gone missing! According to viral social media posts, it was locked in the Warren Occult Museum.
This follows a series of unsettling events in New Orleans, including a major fire at the historic Nottoway Plantation and a mass prison escape. This reportedly coincided with the doll’s visit as part of the Devil’s On The Run paranormal tour.
According to a report in IB Times UK, it was kept in the case made by Ed and Lorraine Warren, its original handlers. The case had a warning printed on its glass, which said 'positively do not open.'
Daniel Rivera, the senior lead investigator for NESPR, built a new box to move it around during the tour.
However, he has now debunked the theories and filmed himself entering the Warrens Occult Museum, to show that the doll is still there. The video was shared by paranormal investigator Ryan Daniel Buell on Facebook on May 24, 2025.
What else do we know about the unsettling events that were reportedly linked to the missing Annabelle doll?
What were the events related to the Annabelle doll when she was on tour?
The Annabelle doll is on tour in 2025 as part of the Devils on the Run traveling exhibit, which features haunted objects from the Warrens' Occult Museum collection. The tour comes ahead of the release of The Conjuring: Last Rites in September 2025.
Paranormal investigator Ryan Daniel Buell shared videos of the doll’s tour on social media. He said that the doll will now be transported to San Antonio, Texas, for the Psychic Festival.
According to a report in the IB Times UK, when the haunted doll reportedly visited New Orleans, a series of unsettling events started unfolding. After the doll was displayed in the French Quarter, chaotic events took place.
The report further added that at least 10 prisoners who were considered "armed and dangerous" escaped from the Orleans Parish Jail during a routine headcount. The authorities in the premises stated that this would have been impossible without any assistance from inside the facility. However, out of the 10 who escaped, five have been captured now.
In another incident, the historic Nottoway Plantation was engulfed in flames. There are no reports yet on what led to the fire that damaged most of the building. Users expressed their frustration about the incidents, stating that the Warrens (the paranormal investigators who originally investigated the doll) clearly stated that the doll should not be moved.
“Three days ago they moved Annabelle, one of the most haunted dolls from Monroe, Connecticut to New Orleans, Louisiana and now the largest sugarcane plantation in Louisiana burned down AND 11 inmates in a New Orleans Prison escape. Didn't the Warren's say she should never be moved.” A user wrote on X.
Another added:
“So the streets are saying after they moved the Annabelle doll out of the Warren museum (when they explicitly said never to move it) she's now gone missing.”
"Allegedly, the real Annabelle is in New Orleans. She was moved against the Warrens’ explicit instructions last week or the week before. Look at what’s happened there since then." Another commented.
"So not only did they move Anabelle, they took her out of the case and put her into a different one. Then they took her on a tour and weird unexplainable stuff started happening. Now they're saying she's missing?!" One more added.
"Someone should put this doll next to Robert The Doll to see if the gates of hell opens…." A user said.
According to the reports, Daniel Rivera told the outlet that while the Anabelle doll was moving, it was kept in a box covered with crosses, representing the Catholic Holy Trinity. The crosses were cut out on three sides using stain infused with holy water and holy oil.
