Is Dermot Mulroney seeking spousal support in divorce from wife Prima Apollinaare after 15 years of marriage?

Dermot Mulroney has filed for divorce from Prima Appollinaare, his wife of fifteen years. According to court documents obtained by USA TODAY, the Young Guns actor signed a petition on June 23, 2025, to dissolve his marriage to the Italian musician.

Mulroney reportedly seeks spousal support from his estranged wife, although he has requested the court to block her from receiving the same. The actor, who allegedly represents himself in the divorce proceedings, has cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce.

He also listed “TBD” as their date of separation. The 61-year-old actor has also asked that the court split the attorney fees between him and Appollinaare.

Mulroney, who shares two daughters with Appollinaare, Mabel Ray and Sally June, has also requested to share physical and legal custody of his daughters. The pair has allegedly not fully disclosed the nature and extent of their assets.

Still, Dermot Mulroney has stated that all community earnings and accumulation during marriage through the date of separation” will be considered community property.

Dermot Mulroney was previously married to Catherine Keener before they split in 2007. The duo shares a son, Clyde. In 2012, Muloney, 61, appeared on The Rosie Show, where he discussed moving on after his divorce from Keener:

“A lot of it doesn’t make sense, but you can’t deny your heart.”

A year after the actor’s divorce from Keener, he was linked to Prima Apollinaare, born Tharita Cutulle. In 2008, the pair welcomed their first daughter, Mabel Ray.

Mabel was baptized in October 2008 at San Pietro, Italy. In 2009, their second daughter, Sally, was born. The actor tied the knot with the Italian singer and actress in December 2010.

The My Best Friend’s Wedding actor told The Hollywood News in 2016 that parenting wasn’t “straight and narrow.”

He added:

"I try to keep the arts in front of them, whether it's music or even just museum trips. I don’t expect anything of them—it’s hard enough for everyone just to get their homework done at night."

In February 2024, Dermot Mulroney and Appollinaare appeared together on Fox’s We Are Family and served as the series’s first married couple. They performed Islands in the Stream by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers together.

Delmot Mulroney told Entertainment Weekly that he and Appollinaare were excited to be invited on the show:

“It was such an amazing phone call to get that the show reached out to us. They knew Prima’s music and put together that we are this sort of secret couple, even though we’ve been together for 20 years,”

He added:

"Kind of a stealth Hollywood couple. So it really works perfectly for this show.”

According to People, a source close to the couple has revealed that their split is amicable and there are no financial arguments between them.
