Is JoJo Siwa really dating Chris Hughes? Singer says she’s ‘head over heels’ and it’s “not platonic anymore”

Jojo Siwa has confirmed her relationship with fellow Celebrity Big Brother contestant Chris Hughes in a June 2, 2025, interview with The Guardian. The 22-year-old Dance Moms alum was on the just-concluded Celebrity Big Brother UK, where her on-screen chemistry with fellow contestant Chris Hughes was the subject of online chatter and debate.

Jojo Siwa has seemingly put an end to speculations by stating in her interview:

“It’s not platonic any more, and it’s been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I’m absolutely head over heels for him, and he’s the same way.”

Before Siwa went on the Big Brother reality show, she was linked with Australian actor Kath Ebbs, who identifies as non-binary. Siwa herself has been open about being a lesbian and reportedly came out by lip-syncing Lady Gaga’s Born This Way on TikTok at age 17.

Siwa’s confirmation of her relationship with Hughes comes after the couple, in their first joint interview on This Morning, denied being in a relationship and insisted that they were “platonic soulmates.”

Jojo Siwa’s ex, Kath Ebbs, has expressed their hurt at the way their relationship with the former ended. In a TikTok video posted on April 26, 2025, Ebbs claimed that they had been dumped at the Big Brother afterparty:

"I flew across the world to support and be there and hold that person in whatever they would be experiencing, leaving such a wild experience, and instead, I was dumped at the afterparty, with Chris [Hughes] in the next room,”

Jojo Siwa, in her recent interview, shared that she wouldn’t engage with the discourse online:

"I’ve read 50 articles in the last week about me that are not true, that says, ‘Sources close to JoJo …’ You’re never gonna know the full truth – and I can’t be bothered to fill anybody in.”

Siwa also told the news outlet that she was experiencing so much joy in her new relationship while debunking claims that her relationship with Hughes was a PR stunt;

"Clearly, you’ve never been around us. I won’t ever speak for him, but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now. Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I’ve never [before] been in pain from smiling so much.”

She added that her family and friends have also commented on how happy she seems.
