Popular American television personality Katie Thurston has shared updates on her battle with stage four breast cancer. The 34-year-old Bachelorette alum took to her official Instagram account on June 1, 2025, which was National Cancer Survivors Day, to talk about the daily struggles she faces as a cancer patient.

Katie revealed that after two months of treatment, she was dealing with memory issues and hair loss; she added that she was hoping for new medical advancements.

“I wanted to do weekly check-ins that are just like uncut, raw emotions of like whatever comes to my mind. Um, I just finished my second month of treatment and if you are asking how long treatment is- technically forever. I am optimistic about medical advancement in the future. Fingers crossed a stage four girly. Um, but right now, after finishing two months of my medication, my hair is coming out in an unnatural amount of clumps; I'm working on that. Um, I’m losing my memory,” Katie Thurston shared in the video.

In the recent update shared on June 1, Katie Thurston recalled a moment when she experienced memory loss.

“Going through customs and then being like- where are you coming from? And I looked at him and I was like I don't remember. I don't remember.”

She's also gave another instance of when she got into a not so argument with her husband and she couldn't recall something at the time.

“Jeff and I got into a not an argument but you know a little disagreement. I was like this has happened before and he's like when? I was like I don't know but I know it has. Um, we are able to laugh about it now.”

Katie Thurston announced her cancer diagnosis on Saturday, February 15, 2025, in an emotional Instagram post. According to the celebrity, she had “experienced a range of emotions” during the two weeks following her cancer diagnosis.

She revealed that she began to search online for women with stories like hers, as they helped. Concluding the lengthy emotional post, Katie thanked her husband for his presence and support during the hard phase.

“Yeah cancer is sh*tty. Sometimes I'm like stop feeling bad for yourself and other times I'm like no you are allowed to feel bad for yourself. Cancer f*cking sucks,” she says in her latest update.

She also talked about her latest treatment for her liver, adding that she decided to go for histotripsy with NYU, a process that makes use of ultrasound waves to treat tumors.

“Its National Canver Survivors Day and you know every day that I'm alive I'm a survivor so go me I guess,” she adds towards the end of the video.
