Nicki Minaj reportedly sparked rumors on X of joining Kick when she conducted a poll asking her fans for their opinion as to which streaming platform she should join. The options included – Twitch and Kick.

According to a tweet posted by the Side-to-Side singer on July 9, 2025, she asked Barbz (her fanbase named after her alter ego, “Barbie”) to trend Jay-Z again. She wrote in her tweet:

“Lol this didn’t go the way they intended. Everytime you try to get the attention on me for your own financial gain, it’ll go back on the things you don’t want it on. Oh and…there’s A LOT more!!!!!! Trust, it’s all fun & games until I wanna play, too :)”

Soon people took to her comments section and started debating if she is leaning towards Twitch or is more likely to choose Kick. Nicki Minaj has over 224 million followers on Instagram, 27.9 million followers on X, 21.5 million on TikTok, and 27.6 million on YouTube.

Based on the social media posts, no concrete announcement has been made by either Kick or Minaj that she would be joining the streaming platform. The viral posts reflect speculation among her fans.

Many fans and followers of Nicki Minaj took to X to express themselves as to whether she should be joining Kick or Twitch. Some supported her decision to join Kick, praising the platform for its creator-friendly policies and potential for better monetization.

“I’d recommend Kick over Twitch. You can easily get your account banned or suspended on Twitch. Not so easy on Kick” Another chimed in.

According to Tube Filter, the Trinidadian singer-songwriter was previously seen on the Twitch platform when she agreed to do a collab with streamer Kai Cenat in 2023. They reportedly drew a peak viewership of 348,593 concurrents, according to data from Streams Charts. It was also part of a promotion for her album, Pink Friday 2.
