Is Rute Cardoso on TikTok? Diogo Jota’s wife responds to the rumors

Rute Cardoso, the wife of Diogo Jota, has addressed the confusion surrounding her TikTok account. For some time, fans have speculated about a TikTok profile having over 180,000 followers and more than 2.2 million views, believing it to be Cardoso’s official account.

However, the 29-year-old recently addressed it in an Instagram story, denying the claims and clarifying that the profile does not belong to her. The original statement by Rute Cardoso read:

"I don’t have TIKTOK, any accounts with my name are fake! Thank you 🤍"

Cardoso's Instagram has over 1.8 million followers as of August 2025, where she was seen sharing her life with her husband, their three children, and their dogs.

The couple reportedly started dating in 2013 and got married in June 2025. They had two sons and one daughter together. On July 3, Jota was involved in a car crash and died at the age of 28.

Rute Cardoso remembers Diogo Jota in an Instagram post

Rute Cardoso has kept her life very private following the passing of her husband, Diogo, just days after their wedding. On July 22, Cardoso uploaded an Instagram post featuring the photos of the couple with the caption:

"1 month of our “until death do us part” 🤍 For ever, Your white girl 🤍"

The couple first met when they were thirteen. Rute shared her first post about Jota in December 2013, with an 'I love you' hashtag. Both Rute and Jota have been very open about their relationship, regularly posting about each other on social media.

On their 3rd year anniversary in 2015, Rute wrote on an Instagram post:

"3 years! 1095 days! Congratulations to us, congratulations to me, and congratulations to you! 👏💕 To you, for putting up with my ways, for the patience and dedication you never lost…"

The post also showed Rute appreciating how they overcame everything together and expressing how much she cherishes and loves him.

In November 2024, Rute shared the happy news of the birth of their third child. However, the couple decided to keep her name private.

The couple uploaded their wedding photos in June, where Rute Cardoso was seen wearing a white gown while Diogo wore a navy suit. Alongside the photos, the couple also shared a video of their marriage, giving fans a look at the special moments on July 2. The video is Jota's last post on Instagram, shared with the caption:

"A day we will never forget 🤍"
