A few days before Ozzy Osbourne passed away, Jason Momoa had an exclusive interview with People Magazine. He opened up about his role as the host for Ozzy’s final concert, Back to the Beginning. He stated:
“I'm not going to lie to you — my month has been like bang, bang, bang, bang. July has been amazing. To be at Sabbath, that's 13-year-old Jason going, like, 'Wow.' Hanging out with all my music rock gods and different friends — it's just pinch me. The come down is going to be brutal, “ Jason told the publication.

Ozzy Osbourne’s last performance was at his benefit concert, Back to the Beginning. The event was hosted by Jason Momoa and took place on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Aston, Birmingham, England. The event was organized by Sharon, Ozzy’s wife, who revealed that she planned everything to help ease her husband’s regret.
“It was my idea because [Ozzy’s] one regret was he didn’t get the chance to say thank you to his fans before he finished his world tour. We were in the middle of his [2018 No More Tours 2] world tour, his retirement tour; we’d only done about nine months of the tour, and he got sick,” Sharon told Billboard.
Back to the Beginning included performances from Mastodon, Rival Sons, Anthrax, Halestorm, Lamb of God, Jack Black, Alice in Chains, Gojira, Drum Off, Pantera, Tool, Slayer, Fred Durst, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, and Black Sabbath. Ozzy also performed.
He sang while seated on a throne since he had lost his ability to walk due to advanced Parkinson's disease. The charity event raised €140,000, which would be shared equally among three hospitals: Acorns Children's Hospice, Birmingham Children's Hospital, and Cure Parkinson's.
Ozzy died seventeen days after the charity concert. The news was announced by his family. In a report given to People, the singer’s family asks for privacy as they go through this period.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
Ozzy Osbourne was 76 years old when he died.
