Lourdiz recently addressed the viral death rumors that surrounded her, debunking the same and confirming that she is alive and safe.
The feud between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj took a darker turn when Lourdiz became the victim of a fabricated death rumor. It stems from the 24-year-old collaborating with Cardi B on her album, Am I The Drama? Reportedly, the Barbz criticized the singer-songwriter who is signed to Minaj’s label, Heavy On It Records.
Taking to her Instagram, she clarified that she is alive, and the news is “a whole different level of disturbing.” She said:
“..i don’t stand for this type of behavior and neither should any of you. It’s inhumane and heartbreaking. If you’re capable of this level of hate, please stay away from me this kind of harassment isn’t fandom it’s barbarism. Please do better.”
Before becoming a part of the Bodak Yellow singer’s recent album, Lourdiz reportedly featured on the Cowgirl track from Minaj’s Pink Friday 2, which was released in December 2023.

Who is Lourdiz? All we know about Nicki Minaj’s signee
Lourdiz was born on April 18, 2001, in San Antonio, Texas. Her real name is Alyssa Lourdiz Cantu. She is of Mexican-American descent.
In 2018, she moved to Los Angeles, where she got signed to Dr. Luke’s publishing company, Prescription Songs. Here, she worked with artists such as Swae Lee, Anitta, and G-Eazy. In a January 2021 interview with Queued magazine, the artist said:
“I met my main collaborator in South Korea. We started catching a vibe and just went from there, and I released some music.”
In March 2020, Lourdiz released her debut single, I’m Pissed, which was followed by Suicide Down featuring Lil Gotit. She told the outlet:
“The whole music industry is very risky, and you have to sacrifice a lot of things. With ‘Suicide Down,’ I tried to exhibit all of those emotions and how I felt and what I was going through.”
She later released Ground Control, which featured Puerto Rican rapper Jon Z. The song reflected traces of her Mexican-American background, blended with musical elements she grew up listening to.
The San Antonio-based singer takes her inspiration from artists such as Shakira, Post Malone, Bad Bunny and Travis Scott. In October 2020, she released her song, Somersault, which is about growing up in a tough environment. In an interview with Flaunt magazine, she said:
“Growing up in the hood, I learned early to keep my eyes wide open and my mouth shut: no habla inglés. When I wrote ‘Somersault’, the first line ‘can’t keep my eyes closed’ speaks to that and my present journey living in LA now. I have to be sharp all the time to figure out my surroundings and what’s my next move.”
The singer scored her first Billboard Hot 100 hit in December 2023 when she featured on Nicki Minaj’s Cowgirl. Billboard stated that the song debuted at No. 87 with 6.6 million streams.
Lourdiz became the subject of hate on the internet when an alleged leaked DM from her surfaced, in which she stated that she isn’t scared of Nicki Minaj and The Barbz. This leaked message stirred the controversy, which added tension to the feud between Nicki and Cardi.
