Jackie Bezos mother of Amazon and Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos, has passed away aged 78. Jackie was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia in 2020 and lived with the disease until her passing. Her philanthropic organization, the Bezos Family Foundation, announced her death on August 14, 2025:
"Jackie died peacefully in her Miami home on August 14th, at the age of 78. A quiet final chapter to a life that taught all of us, friends and family alike, the true meaning of grit and determination, kindness, and service to others."
The announcement added:
"Mike, her husband and partner for more than half a century, remained by her side at every step of this journey."

Jackie Bezos was the mother to Jeff, Christina and Mark Bezos. Jackie raised Jeff as a single parent before meeting a young Cuban immigrant, Miguel Bezos, who did night shifts at the bank where she worked.
The couple tied the knot on April 5, 1968. They had Christina and Mark together. Jackie furthered her education and obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1991 at 45.
Jeff Bezos, who recently married Lauren Sanchez, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram.
"After a long fight with Lewy Body Dementia, she passed away today, surrounded by so many of us who loved her — her kids, grandkids, and my dad. I know she felt our love in those final moments. We were also lucky to be in her life. I hold her safe in my heart forever."
