Former producer for Rockstar Games Leslie Benzies, who worked on the Grand Theft Auto franchise, has developed a single-player game in collaboration with Build a Rocket Boy named MindsEye. The game is expected to launch on June 10, 2025, on personal computers, PS5, and Xbox.

The developers have released a 6-minute trailer for the game, promising gamers can create anything with their imagination. Furthermore, MindsEye will launch with a single-player mode before adding other gameplay scenarios later.

In a press release, Leslie Benzies stated that she was excited to launch MindsEye and revealed that the game had been in the works for almost a decade.

"Our team has poured their passion and dedication into creating MindsEye and the Game Creation System for almost a decade to deliver players an unforgettable story campaign and empower them to craft their own world-class experiences. Continuous updates and fresh new content from our studio ensure MindsEye is an endless adventure".

The trailer for MindsEye introduces the viewer to the city of Redrock, which is overrun by corporate greed and supertechnology. The lead character, Jacob Diaz, is a highly skilled outlaw who battles to save the human race from forces working against it.

The game boasts features like a creation system for gamers to build their games, a companion drone to access unique player enhancements, and a portal to access other game modes.

Fans react to MindsEye Game trailer by former GTA developer

@Dexerto shared the trailer for the MindsEye game on X, and gamers have received mixed reactions.

@RealMediaX tweeted in response:

“Knockoff cyberpunk.”

Other X users shared the same sentiment and drew comparisons between the Cyberpunk game franchise and MindsEye:

“MindsEye is a mix between Watch Dogs and Cyberpunk,” @TechFreakOnline stated.
“This legit looks like Cyberpunk 2037,” @lunar_v2 added.
“It looks like a mix between Cyberpunk, Watch Dogs, and a little bit of GTA,” @IgnitionCasino responded.

Other netizens found the trailer intriguing and reacted positively to it:

“Bet those level designs are wild. Time to see if this new game scratches that open-world exploration itch,” @Triumph_Games gushed.
“100% Smash. Going to be a great game. We need more games like this, Cyber Punk & GTA. They're just so much more enjoyable and entertaining,” @LouieBandanaa expressed.
“Looks decent for what it is. But things like not being a fully open world will probably hold it back a bit. People comparing it to gta and cp77 are being unfair. This isn't a AAA budget production. Not every game needs to be at that level,” @Verratus_Speaks explained.

Interested gamers can pre-order the game on their website. Stay tuned for more updates.
