Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker's five-year relationship and marriage explored as new Kardashian episodes raise alleged red flags

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have been together for almost five years. The two have been friends for a long time before they finally decided to make things romantic in 2021. After a year of dating, the pair decided to tie the knot in a Las Vegas wedding at the One Love Wedding Chapel in 2022.

Three years into the marriage, fans have been worried about Kourtney and Travis Barker's relationship after recent episodes on The Kardashians. According to insider sources from an exclusive report from The Sun UK, they mentioned the uncomfortable incident where Barker allegedly forced Kourtney Kardashian to run a 5k.

The insider said:

"She is completely blinded by him and is so desperate to please him."

They referred to the episode where the couple were running together, and Kourtney Kardashian said to her husband:

"If you let me drink some water, I’ll keep running with you."

The insider elaborated:

"The clip has understandably caused a lot of upset. It gave people what they believe is a real insight into their relationship... Any runner would tell you there is no way they would have been going the same pace and it was cruel to make her keep up."

However, Kourtney, on the other hand, did not see it as cruel, but instead thanked Barker for "pushing her" to run. The source added:

"Afterwards she thanked him for pushing her. It seems to be a recurring theme in their marriage – she is completely blinded by him and is so desperate to please him... From the beginning it’s all been an intoxicating whirlwind and she’s been swept up in the world of Travis."

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have known each other for a long time before they decided to make their relationship romantic. The pair started dating at the beginning of 2021 and made it Instagram official on Valentine's Day in the same year.

Kourtney and Travis were spending a lot of time with their families together before they decided to tie the knot in the following year. Travis even tattooed Kourtney's name on his chest and got tattooed by the Kardashian herself. In addition to her name, he also got a tattoo of her lips on his bicep and the words "I love you" in her handwriting.

A few months into their relationship, Kourtney Kardashian celebrated Travis Barker's first flight after his plane crash in 2008. An insider source told PEOPLE:

"It's a huge deal that Travis flew to Cabo. The plane crash many years ago was extremely traumatizing. He has needed a lot of help to get to this point... Kourtney has been very supportive. She never pushed for him to fly. They have managed to travel in the US without having to fly, and Kourtney has been totally fine with it."

Barker also shared what he told Kourtney before they decided to take the flight. During an interview with NYLON, he said:

"I made a deal with her that she had just said to me, 'I would love to do so much traveling with you. I want to go to Italy with you. I want to go to Cabo with you. I want to go to Paris with you. I want to go to Bora Bora with you,' And I said, 'Well, when the day comes you want to fly, I'm telling you I'll do it with you. I would do anything with you. And just give me 24 hours notice.' And that's what she did."

Towards the latter part of 2021, the couple made their red carpet debut in matching black leather outfits. They got engaged the following month (October 2021), after less than a year of dating. Kourtney Kardashian announced the engagement with a one-word caption on Instagram. Kourtney Kardashian wrote:

The following year, Kourtney Kardashian talked about including Travis Barker in their new Hulu reality TV series. Kourtney Kardashian spoke to Variety about explaining why she wants Barker on the show, saying:

"I definitely hold my relationship really close. It's so sacred to me, and I am very protective of it. I think I've learned a lot of lessons... There is a lot of us on there, and we've had such a good time doing it because we have such a good time when we're together, but I definitely want to protect it as much as I can. Kourtney Kardashian revealed that she was extremely drunk while attending her Las Vegas wedding, on one of The Kardashians episodes. In her words:

"I didn't even remember Elvis sang to me walking down the aisle... I didn't remember I had a bouquet... I did throw up after, though, and took my top off and unbuttoned my pants and had to walk back through the hotel with a million people taking my photo. I was a hot slob kebab."

While their Las Vegas wedding can be called romantic, it was not legal. The couple got legally married in Santa Barbara before they had their big Italian wedding. Travis and Kourtney Kardashian exchanged their vows in Portofino, Italy, in front of their six children, family members, and friends.

After getting married, the couple was planning to conceive, but they were met with hurdles along the way. In one of the episodes, Kourtney Kardashian spoke about her IVF journey to the camera, saying:

"After eight months of our IVF [in-vitro fertilization] journey, we took a break and wanted to try things naturally... The doctors had told us that we still have some really good-looking follicles and that it was the best they've seen."

Kourtney Kardashian continued:

Everyone involved, including our natural doctors, felt we should give it one more shot with an IVF retrieval... And so we did one final egg retrieval, and we are just waiting on the genetic testing results, but it has made it to an embryo."

Kourtney and Travis' marriage looks a little different compared to many couples. Even after the couple was legally married, they were still living in separate houses. Kourtney Kardashian explained:

"We're in the place where we're figuring out how to blend our households and our kids, and what life looks like now... For the most part, we're getting those things in place. We do family dinner every Sunday night with all the kids at his house."

She also shared her morning routine on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, saying:

"I get up at six in the morning and I carpool every morning, then I go straight to his house and have a matcha, he has it ready for me, and then we have matcha, talk, hang out and work out together, and then we start our day."

After a year of their Las Vegas wedding, Kourtney commemorated the special day with a post on Instagram. She wrote:

"It was one of the best nights of our lives, dreaming of a lifetime filled with fun adventures together... And yes, that's me about to throw up on the floor in the car."

A year after the couple got married, they shared the wonderful news that they were expecting a baby boy. They welcomed Rocky Thirteen Barker on November 1, 2023, in Los Angeles.

The couple has been celebrating various milestones with each other, including Kourtney Kardashian's 45th birthday. Travis also shared one activity that keeps them close to each other. He said that they are "great workout buddies," and added:

"It's one of the main reasons we were so close. We would always work out together and run together before we were ever in a relationship... It's amazing to be with someone that has the same love for wellness."
