Meghan Markle reportedly flung a cup of tea during a heated moment: Everything we know so far

All was not hunky dory during Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Australian tour right after their wedding. According to insider sources who talked to Radar Online, they revealed that Markle was in fact "miserable" behind the cameras. The tension was so high that the new Duchess of Sussex hurled a cup of tea in the air during a moment of outburst.

One source told Radar Online:

"From the outside it looked perfect, but behind the scenes things were tense. Markle was unhappy, Harry was fixated on negative comments online, and the staff were stuck in between."

One of the insiders called Meghan's act of flinging a cup of tea as:

"a small but dramatic act of rebellion."

How did Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Australian tour go?

Right after the couple got married in 2018, they set out to tour Australia in the same year. The tour was called 'Meghan-Mania' by the press, and everything seemed picture-perfect on the outside, but that was not the case internally.

At the time, all eyes were on the newly married royal couple. They attended the Invictus Games, which is an international multi-sport event for military personnel who were sick, injured, and wounded.

Harry said that he was "humbled and inspired" by their determination, while his wife commended their "unshakable bond".

On the other side of the story, Meghan Markle was said to be "miserable" behind the cameras. According to Tom Bower's (royal author) book, Revenge, he revealed that while the photos depict a happy image, what happened inside the team was the opposite.

It was also reported that Meghan brought two friends from Canada during the Australian tour. The two friends were Jessica and Ben Mulroney. However, this generated tension between the Duchess of Sussex and the palace aides that were assigned to them.

According to the aides, they described Markle's behavior towards them and diplomats as "abrasive," even mentioning the tea cup flinging incident.

Another source states:

"She was dealing with huge pressure and wanted the kind of press handling she was used to in Hollywood. When that wasn't delivered, her frustration showed."

The extensive media coverage did not help with their situation. Tom Bower mentioned how Harry would go through negative comments at night, increasing the couple's worry. Meghan Markle was also unhappy about the numerous articles about her father that came up at the time.

What made it worse for the team is the fact that Prince Harry blamed the UK press when the tabloids and articles started from the US press.
