“Mental health is real”: Omi in a Hellcat reveals mental struggles while counting down to freedom

Omar Carrasquillo, popularly known as Omi in a Hellcat, reflects on his life as he announces that he will be coming home in three months. The popular YouTuber revealed that he was “overwhelmed” with the thought of seeing his children upon his release.

"I'm 3 months away from coming home with or without Rap! I am overwhelmed with being back home to see my children.”

The 39-year-old social media personality revealed that he was looking forward to being alone before thanking his longtime girlfriend Mimi for sticking by him and expressing that he couldn’t wait to marry her:

“I want to thank my best friend in the world for being here for me. I love you be i cannot wait to marry you.”

Omi in a Hellcat continued in his emotional write-up about the importance of taking time to process things in solitude:

“But at times, you need to just be alone to really grasp everything in its entirety. Mental health is real and just know that every man that smiles is not happy.”

Omi in a Hellcat is currently serving time in prison for crimes including cable television piracy, money laundering, wire fraud, and copyright infringement. In March 2023, he was sentenced to five and a half years in prison.

While announcing his impending release from prison, the online personality talked about being vulnerable as a man. He spoke about how societal norms have made it difficult for men to express emotions:

"Some men are truly crying on the inside because of the stigma that "men have to be strong".

He described women as the “strongest beings on the planet”:

“And that is the furthest thing from the truth. I have learned that women are the strongest beings on this planet, and we are here to assist them.”

Before his arrest, Omi was a prominent YouTuber renowned for his flashy lifestyle content. In addition to Omi’s prison sentence, he was fined $30 million and had to forfeit several properties.
