A clip of Michael Beasley, along with streamers Neon and Adin Ross, is making rounds on the internet. In the clip, the basketball player, Michael, discloses that he beat the NBA player, LeBron James, in a ‘1v1’ basketball game.
This clip, in which Michael made the bold claims, is being circulated on the internet, and fans are either criticizing his claims, making fun of him, or flooding social media with disbelief.
Beasley last played for the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He was also picked in the 2008 NBA draft and was selected by the Miami Heat.
What did Michael Beasley say about beating LeBron James?
Recently, in a stream with Adin Ross, Neon, and Lance Stephenson, Michael made a bold claim involving the NBA star LeBron James. When Beasley was asked if he had beaten James in a one-on-one game, he said:
''Yeah. I mean, the story is told wrong, but just know it’s legit.''
The host asked him the same question again, pressing for clarity, to which he replied:
''Yeah. Y’all want to hear that?''
As this clip from the stream went viral, netizens assumed that what Beasley meant was that he beat LeBron James in a big official match. However, that was not what he meant. LeBron and Beasley never played a public or official 1v1 game in a full-court matchup. About the match, Beasley was talking in the clip, and it was the intense practice sessions as teammates on the Miami Heat.
This story of Beasley beating LeBron on the Miami Heat was first shared by Tom Haberstroh, an internet personality and a former ESPN reporter who was at the time covering the Miami Heat. On the podcast Back To Back with Willy Joy, Tom had shared that Beasley would beat LeBron every time they played in one-on-one practice.
Last year on The OGs show, Beasley also spoke about the same thing. He had said, as per Total Pro Sports:
''That story whoever reporter was that that story. It’s some truth to the essence of that story, me and Bron, we ain’t ever played 1 on 1, in front of people. Remember when I first got here, I was on Bron’s a** not on thought like I think I’m better.''
There has been chatter on the internet about the bond between Michael and LeBron, and last month on the Common Denominator Podcast, Beasley was asked to choose between LeBron and Michael Jordon. This is what he said:
''No shot to Jordan because he's Jordan, but they don't tell the story of him having to learn the championship pedigree. LeBron James gave us, or has given us, the opportunity to be witnesses. We watched his good, his bad, we watched his ups, his downs so long, and he's been so great that we don't have anything to say.''
Although Beasley is admired for his skills, his claim of beating LeBron received criticism from fans.
