“My stomach kept growling": Lee Jun Ho talks about his tough diet while filming Typhoon Family 

Lee Jun Ho's latest drama, Typhoon Family, is out now on Netflix. The drama has gained over 8.3 star ratings on My DramaList. On October 28, the South Korean actor and singer uploaded a YouTube video on his channel titled [Tae Phoong Home Video #3] First Day at Work & First Dating Show, which gained over 30000 views in twenty-one hours.

The video gave a behind-the-scenes at the filming of the drama recorded at the time of the shooting, which was loved by the fans. The actor mentioned that the drama's filming was planned to last about seven to eight months.

Sharing his experience, he said:

"It got super quiet during the shoot, and my stomach started growling nonstop. But it wasn't just me. Everyone's stomach were growling."

Sharing his diet during filming, he added:

"These days I usually eat, for both lunch and dinner, one chicken breast, one protein shake, and one protein drink. Sometimes, I eat sour lemon candies. One in the morning and one at night. When I feel low on sugar, I eat a few gummies."

Lee Jun Ho will also star in another drama titled Cashero, which is set to release later this year.

Inside Lee Jun Ho's past diet restrictions

While the actor revealed he is following a strict diet, this isn't the first time he has followed strict food management. He is often seen talking about the rule he follows regarding food on his YouTube videos.

In a 2022 YouTube video, the actor, while talking about his diet, said:

"I’m still on a strict diet, so I don’t look at bakeries without reason. I kept thinking, "Should I eat or not?" and "Can I eat or not?" so I turned a blind eye."

In a reported statement on Channel Fifteen, Lee Jun Ho said:

"I wanted to try something that uses my body. I thought about trying to be an athlete. As a child I really liked swimming. I actually liked swimming, and I took lessons for three years as a child, then stopped."

The actor also revealed the reason behind deciding to go with the drama. Talking to Na Young-seok about Typhoon Family, in a reported statement by KbizoOm, Lee Jun Ho said he was drawn to its old-era charm and liked the idea of doing a longer, more engaging drama.

He further added:

"I received the first four episodes of the script, and right after reading them, I could already visualize the scenes I wanted to portray. It was so fun that I felt I had to try it."
