2025 was a year of losses for online communities, as news of the deaths of internet stars made it to social media platforms.
The year started with the tragic passing of 31-year-old fitness creator Chris O'Donnell, who died by suicide on January 11. Following O'Donnell's death, YouTuber Alysha Burney died at 24, after suffering a fatal asthma attack in Cabo San Lucas on March 2. Alysha was known for her "Bad Girls Club" parodies and comedy skits.
Nursing influencer Hailey Okula died on April 1 at 33 after giving birth to her first child. Fox Rescue owner and creator Mikayla Raines died by suicide on June 20, followed by Tanner Martin's death on June 25, after battling colon cancer. Martin was known for his lifestyle content and for documenting his cancer journey. John Crawley, also known as KingBeardX on TikTok, passed away on August 18 from cardiac arrest. Crawley, who boasted over 2 million TikTok followers, was known for his reactions to people eating videos.
Malik Taylor, best known for his comedic POV skits, died at 28 years old after a road accident on August 20, followed by Baddie Winkle's death at 97 on September 4. Winkle was included in Time's list of "The 30 most influential people on the internet" in 2016. Grandma Belle died of a "natural progression of disease with dementia" on September 12, followed by Zuza Beine's death at 14 on September 22 due to acute myeloid leukemia.
Ben Rader, best known for his lifestyle content and financial advice, died on October 23, after he was found not breathing.

Fitness influencer Allesandro Antonicelli died on December 4 amid a cancer battle.
Pyari Maryam died on December 4, after giving birth to twin boys. "Biker Girl Karen" influencer Karen Sofia Quiroz Ramirez died on November 26 after a motorcycle collision. Makeup artist and beauty creator Stefanie Piper was found dead on November 29. YouTuber Jan Zimmermann died on November 18 after an unexpected epileptic seizure at 27.
