Are the Jonas Brothers in debt? Joe Jonas shuts down troll with playful reference as 'Camp Rock 3' teaser drops

Joe Jonas isn't letting the haters kill his Camp Rock comeback vibes.

After a troll suggested that the Jonas Brothers only returned for Camp Rock 3 because they desperately needed money, the pop star snapped back with a Connect 3 reference that turned the critique into a full-circle moment.

The critic wrote in a reposted clip:

"Genuine question are the jonas brothers in serious debt or something."

Quickly, the Thick of All hitmaker responded:

"God forbid connect 3 go back to where connect 3 connected."

In an exclusive People interview, the famous brothers shared their reactions to the forthcoming film's reception and reflected on their thoughts about filming the upcoming installment. Joe Jonas shared:

"I was flooded with emotion again. I was like, 'Oh man. I didn’t expect to be hit like this.'"

Kevin Jonas then revealed:

"It was wild. We got to the set, and we saw cast members from the original movies on the Camp Rock Final Jam stage. Thank God those movies happened. Thank God Joe got cast, and they decided to put me and Nick in it as well."

For Nick Jonas, the project was "special."

"It's a pretty special thing to think back to when we made the first Camp Rock back in '07 and how crazy our life was at that moment."

On Dec. 4, Disney finally released the teaser for the much-anticipated Camp Rock 3, featuring Connect 3, the film's fictional band with the members as the Jonas Brothers: Shane Gray (Joe), Nate (Nick), and Jason (Kevin). The story logline hinted at what's to come:

"The memories, music, and good times are back, and so are Kevin, Joe, and Nick, for the can't-miss summer event Camp Rock 3! Welcome back to Camp Rock, as a new generation of campers find their voice."

A press release also teased:

"The story picks up when Connect 3 lose their opening act for a major reunion tour, returning to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing. As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations and romances."

In the clip, the band members approach a lakefront where the previous summer camps took place, while Wouldn't Change a Thing plays in the background.

The trailer also reveals that the Jonas Brothers are the executive producers of the most-awaited third installment, as well as the beloved female lead, Demi Lovato, who stars in the movie as Mitchie Torres. Joe Jonas speaks in the teaser:

"Music, friendship, memories. We're back. Exactly where we're supposed to be."

Nick Jonas then quipped:

"Still no birdhouse."

Camp Rock 3 is headlined by a new generation of teen campers: Liamani Segura (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series), Malachi Barton (Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires), Lumi Pollack (Electric Bloom), Hudson Stone, and Casey Trotter (The Thundermans: Undercover).

Meanwhile, despite the new wave of young roster, Maria Canals-Barrera is set to reprise her role as Connie Torres, who is the camp's new owner.

The movie is slated to release in summer 2026.
