Bowen Yang has carved out a niche for himself thanks to his role as a tenured SNL cast member. He has also starred in various films and other projects and used his platform to stand for his beliefs. In the latest news, Yang gave his input on a question that is sure to have the internet up in arms.
As part of the promotional run for the upcoming Wicked: For Good, Bowen Yang recently joined co-star Ariana Grande for the Vanity Fair lie detector test. Eventually, Grande got to the topic of on-screen kisses, which led to some fun banter between the two.
Grande began by asking,
“Did you enjoy kissing me?”
Bowen Yang quipped back,
“It was the only time I kissed someone where a crowd screamed in horror, so I think I liked it?”.
The pop sensation then upped the ante by asking if she was a better kisser than Sydney Sweeney, to which Yang replied,
“You were. Because she and I did it in a very rushed way. We had an intimacy coordinator, lovely woman, who was like ‘Keep the lips closed, no tongue,’ and I was like ‘Got it.'”
Bowen Yang and Ariana Grande clearly have great chemistry, which audiences look forward to seeing on screen.
Bowen Yang’s lie detector test, more
Bowen Yang and Ariana Grande delved into more than just on-screen intimacy in their interview. In fact, the standout from their Vanity Fair segment was actually their discussion of the moon landing, as it came up on the same segment when Ariana Grande was doing press for the first Wicked film alongside co-star Cynthia Erivo.
Grande made a point to address the topic head-on once she was attached to the polygraph machine,
“I feel like we have some air to clear. That moon thing doesn’t sit well with me. I think sometimes I get nervous. Is it picking up truth or lie, or is it picking up waves of panic? The moon landing has happened! And f— off if it didn’t!”
Bowen Yang temporarily shifted focus before prodding Grande on the topic again,
“Do you believe that there is a flag planted on the moon?”
This time, the songstress was far more blunt with her response,
“Bowen… I hear both arguments. The truth is: I don’t give a rat’s ass! I’m worried about Earth, goddamn it! We’re burning alive! We’re killing each other! Can we worry about Earth for five minutes? Who gives a f— about the moon and the flag! How did you get me here again? You guys!”
Wicked: For Good releases in theatres on November 21.
