A source while speaking to People in an article published on September 23 notes that Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot were not having an affair.
In July, 2025, ex Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and ex Head of HR Kristin Cabot were caught canoodling at a Coldplay concert by the kiss cam. As soon as they were featured on the kiss-cam screen, the two ducked and hid their face, with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin alleging that the two were having an affair because of their reaction.
A source while speaking to People said:
"Kristin and Andy (Byron) had an excellent working relationship, a great friendship. There was no affair. It was inappropriate to be hugging your boss at a concert, and she accepts full responsibility for it. But the scandal, the downfall, the loss of the job, all of that is unfair."
Both Byron and Cabot are married and the incident prompted public backlash, with many raising questions about their private lives. Both soon left Astronomer, a tech company, which also released a statement about their company's code of conducts and standard.
The source also noted that Kristin was allegedly branded as a "homewrecker" and how "devastating" an incident like this could be for families.
Kristin Cabot and Andrew Cabot were already separated before the kiss cam scandal
Another source while speaking to The Times of London, noted that Kristin wasn't cheating on her husband like the public assumed her to be, and the two had already separated before the kiss cam scandal in July. Andrew Cabot, was married to Kristin for two years, and he is the CEO of Privateer Rum.
According to New York Times, Andrew was allegedly on a business trip to Japan when the scandal took place. Andrew's ex-wife Julia Cabot while speaking to The Daily Mail, said:
“I texted Andrew right after it happened, and he said: ‘Her life is nothing to do with me,’ and said they were separating."
In less than a month after the scandal, Kristin Cabot filed for divorce from Andrew Cabot in August 2025.
