Kai Cenat’s next big move isn’t just getting back to Twitch — it’s inside Fortnite.
The streamer, who boasts more than 18.6 million followers, confirmed that he is joining the game’s coveted Icon Series with his very own skin. On August 17 on X (formerly Twitter), Cenat wrote:
“Huge announcement + Fortnite Icon Series reveal tomorrow!”
The streamer's post quickly climbed past 1 million views and amassed over 8000 likes, with Fortnite’s official account cheekily responding just minutes later with a single word:
“Leaked.”
One fan reacted online: "Big time flex."
Fans sound off on the internet as Kai Cenat announces his return
The Fortnite community is watching closely (and reacting loudly) as one of streaming’s biggest personalities prepares to drop into the Battle Bus in digital form. As expected, social media erupted with various reactions to Kai Cenat's comeback and Fortnite skin announcement.
"That's impressive," another commented.
"That would sure be a good sight to see," one said.
"He is back," another replied.
"Absolutely [fire]," one wrote with an emoji.
"KAI CENAT IS BACK TO STREAM!!! LETS GOOOO!!!" another exclaimed.
"Cooler than anything adin or xqc ever done," a fan added.
Unfortunately, not everyone was happy and left unkind comments under the announcement.
"They be giving anybody an icon skin," one wrote with crying emojis.
"What in the wide wide world of gaming does this mean?????" another tweeted.
"What influence does Kai have on Fortnite. Everyone I seen him play he getting dogged," another opined.
"So instead of giving creators that spend all of their time playing the game and keeping it alive they would rather give a icon skin to Kai who’s skill level is the same as Jake future and plays the game once a year," one said.
The Icon Series is Fortnite’s way of honoring cultural figures who helped shape the game’s community, with past inductees ranging from pro gamer Clix to pop star Sabrina Carpenter. Kai Cenat’s addition places him alongside names that have stretched Fortnite’s reach beyond gaming.
While the exact look of his skin is still under wraps, Cenat will showcase it live during a special stream on Monday, August 18 at 8:30 PM PST (11:30 PM EST / 4:30 AM BST / 12:30 PM JST & KST).
Fans speculate that the collab may go beyond cosmetics, with possibilities ranging from themed bundles to unique competitions hosted by Cenat himself.
