Colleen Hoover is a celebrated American novelist. Her voice has resonated with the audience, and her works have been adapted for the big screen, including It Ends with Us. Unfortunately, production on the film became a lightning rod for controversy when allegations of harassment surfaced, leading to a legal feud between its main stars, Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively.

In recent news, Billy Bush has been the latest to weigh in on the It Ends with Us drama. The television host turned podcaster decided to take on Collen Hoover’s stance on the situation during a recent episode of his new YouTube show, Hot Mics with Billy Bush.

Responding to her comments in a recent Elle article and throughout the ordeal, Bush identifies the author as a shrewd operator with hidden motives, rather than an objective and honest bystander.

“Oh you don’t have the truth you say? Well then why did you unfollow Justin Baldoni and swing right over to Blake Lively’s side what because “Believe Her”? Because Blake Lively said it and you dropped this guy like a hot rock.”

Billy Bush continued with his criticism of Colleen Hoover,

“Six people wanted the intellectual property to make a film of this book and you chose him. The one male out of the whole group because you were so impressed with him, met with him a million times, he wrote you a beautiful letter and then everything your instincts told you about this person you dropped like a hot rock as soon as Blake Lively said “He SH’ed me.” No. You did that because of opportunity. You did that because you wanted to be in the Ryan Reynolds Blake Lively sphere of influence in Hollywood. And now she’s regretting it I think.”

As of now, neither Colleen Hoover nor anyone else involved with the film’s production has commented on Bush’s take.

Colleen Hoover's recent comments on It Ends with Us drama, more

Elle recently interviewed Colleen Hoover in a piece titled ‘How Colleen Hoover Took Hollywood.' The in-depth story touches on many topics, including her meteoric rise to success, though social media users were more focused on her views on the drama and allegations stemming from the It Ends with Us production.

Hoover shared the following thoughts on the entire debacle,

“When there are real people involved, with real feelings and emotions. This actually truly has impacted some of the actors’ careers in huge ways. And I just find it all around sad.”

She went on to add,

“I’m just trying to stay removed from the negativity. I have my own story I could tell … but I don’t want to bring attention to it, and I don’t want to have to put someone else down to lift myself up. So I’d rather just ignore it and let people think and say what they’re going to say. I feel like it’s so big at this point that there’s nothing anyone can say to change whatever opinion people have of it, even though no one has the actual truth. Not even me.”
