BTS' Jimin frequently makes headlines for his charitable works. Most recently, the WHO singer got a recognition for his valuable donations. He was listed in the fifth edition of “Korean Donors: The Givers,” a book about people who are making a difference in the world through their regular donations.
Park Jimin, in addition to his father and younger brother, is a part of the Green Noble Club. It is a circle of prominent donors to Green Umbrella. The BTS member joined the club in 2021 by contributing 100 million won to various programs like preparing young people for self-reliance, assisting children from at-risk families, and alleviating poor living conditions.
While his father supported Green Umbrella's talent growth project, he became part of the Green Noble Club in 2022. BTS’ Jimin’s younger brother recently returned to his family after concluding his obligatory military service. He has also continued the tradition of charitable works.
BTS' Jimin's donations began with a project to help young people prepare for independence in the Busan area and have since grown to include families struggling in the aftermath of COVID-19.

More about ‘The Givers 50’ initiative
The Givers 50 is a program that recognizes donors who have made important contributions in their areas. During Pie Week, a campaign to encourage donation culture led by The Butter and non-profit groups, 50 donors are chosen each year for The Givers 50. Organizations involved in Pie Week suggest candidates, and those who qualify are picked as the final 50.
Here’s the criteria considered while Donor Selection:
1. Sustainability
- We prioritized consistent giving over one-time donations. We focused on whether a donor has made regular or recurring donations.
2. Intent
- We focused on the sincerity and values behind the donations. The heart and mindset behind the donations were key criteria.
3. Story
- We focused on the motivations behind donating and the personal stories behind them. We witnessed how life experiences and the act of giving intertwine.
4. Ripple Effect
- We considered whether the donor's actions had a positive impact on those around them or society. For instance, they are setting an example or contributing to the spread of a culture of giving.
5. Diversity
- We selected donors from diverse backgrounds, including age, occupation, and philanthropy background. We wanted to convey the message that giving is not something special for a select few, but something we all share.
Besides BTS' Jimin, other members of the K-pop band support different social causes and give donations to charities.
