Call of Duty : Black Ops 7 teases a new setting for their 2025 release.

Call of Duty : Black Ops 7 is a new Black Ops game and is supposedly a sequel to 2012's Black Ops II. The game is reportedly going to be set in 2035. According to sources, this sequel will build upon previous legendary characters like James Woods and Alex Mason, who are making a comeback. This leak is coming from a Reddit post by someone named Bigbyy, who was supposedly part of a study group created to see the excitement of players for the next Call of Duty game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 what to expect

As a sequel, there are possible updates to the previous features of the game, including multiplayer mode, zombie mode, and Treyarch's omnimovement feature. Besides this, there is a huge change in the setting of the game. The new game, which will be set in 2035, will be set in Japan and will have a unique futuristic Japanese map.

The game is set to pick up from the 2012 version, as COD Black Ops II was left off in 2025. The leak suggests that the Zombie mode will feature the "largest round-based map ever created," which would be a remake of the Tranzit map from the prequel. This mode will also feature a difficulty slider and focus more on the original Zombies crew and a story-driven exploration.

As for Treyarch's omnimovement feature, they will continue to feature it in all game modes in addition to a new wall-running mechanic. The multiplayer mode is going to be upgraded as well, as it will feature a 32v32 large-scale mode along with a bunch of old fan-favorite maps. Besides this, this mode will also feature the classic killstreaks and perks, the "carry forward" program, which is for weapon and operator continuity from Black Ops 6, as well as a progression system that carries over from Black Ops 6.

According to rumors, the launch could be in October or November, but since the first version is still quite popular, they might delay the release indefinitely. Of course, since these are all leaks, nothing is concrete, so take this information with a grain of salt and look out for official announcements to be made. Fans can keep an eye out for the Xbox Games Showcase on June 8 for any sort of news.
